The Ninety-Nines Professional Pilot Leadership Initiative/PPLI provides highly motivated Ninety-Nines members with tools to further develop their careers and leadership abilities. One aim of the international program is to help women increase the community of fellow pilots by sharing the skills learned in the PPLI with others who follow.
Conceived in 2003 by airline pilot Ninety-Nines Jenny Beatty (American Airlines) and Laura Smith (Southwest Airlines), this biannual program is an opportunity for highly committed women pilots to receive mentoring, learn new career skills, share what they know and become active participants and leaders in the aviation community.
The cornerstones of The Professional Pilot Leadership Initiative are:
✈Women pilots helping each other so we can all succeed.
✈Highly motivated, high-potential participants who will take full advantage of this opportunity to learn and to share.
✈Structured one-on-one mentoring to pass along expertise and support that helps reduce the learning curve and accelerate career development.
✈Guided exercises and activities to develop practical, goal-oriented career and leadership skills that can be put to immediate use in career advancement and that build our aviation community.
Starting from the premise that each individual is responsible for her own career advancement, this program represents the opportunity for highly committed women pilot participants to receive mentoring, learn new career skills, share what they know, and become active participants and leaders in our aviation community.
Any 99s member planning or currently pursuing any professional pilot career is encouraged to join the
